Shoppers exchange air miles for purchases at IDF Brussels
By Luke Barras-hill |

Passengers can claim up to 1.5 air miles per euro spent at Brussels Zaventem Airport with Hi Duty Free.
Belgium’s International Duty Free (IDF) is offering travellers at Brussels Zaventem Airport the opportunity to swap their air miles for duty free purchases.
Award miles earned through the High Duty Free Instamiles app can be turned into a gift voucher valid at IDF’s duty free shops (excluding tobacco) during the festive season.
The offer is valid until 30 January 2018 and applies to outbound and transit passengers only travelling through the airport who are registered with the Instamiles app.
It is restricted to one voucher per person per day and based on a minimum purchase of €50 ($59) and €100 ($119) to receive a €5 ($6) or €10 ($12) voucher, respectively. Miles will be deducted automatically from their balance via the app.

Air miles can be exchanged for liquor, confectionery, fashion, perfumes & cosmetics and more at IDF’s Zaventem airport stores.
FREQUENT FLYER BENEFITS
According to a Hi Duty Free blog, travellers can download the Instamiles app, explore and complete all purchase ‘missions’ in the airport before boarding. They then email the support team to redeem award miles in exchange for the gift voucher.
In order to build up award miles, passengers simply take a picture of their sales receipt with the Instamiles app and can expect to receive the miles immediately in their account. Redemption begins at 1,000 miles.
Award miles can be redeemed for items including whisky, Belgian chocolates, designer handbags, perfumes and more before they board.
IDF first partnered with IDF nine months ago to offer passengers up to 1.5 air miles for every euro spent shopping at the airport.
Hi Duty Free is a collaborative platform pairing frequent flyers and shoppers with international airports.
Frequent Flyers can post their flights in advance on the platform and accept to purchase specific products in duty free just before boarding.
Certified correspondents pick up and check the products at the arrival airport before delivering them with the original receipts to the shopper’s home.
