Cooper King is a carbon negative gin made with local ingredients at a self-built Yorkshire distillery powered by renewable energy.

Sustainaholics has secured a listing with Tourvest Retail Services for its collection of sustainable spirits brands to be pre-purchased at High Life Shop.

Passengers on short haul flights (with the exception of domestic routes) can now pre-order Two Drifters (carbon negative rum), Oxford Artisan Distillery (heritage grain English rye whisky), Cooper King (carbon negative gin), Hyke (surplus grape gin) and Black Cow (pure milk vodka) at duty free prices for collection onboard their flight.

It marks the debut listing for the range.

In addition, miniatures will also be available from the Speedbird Café in-flight menu from 1 March 2023.

“Sustainaholics was founded in 2021, encouraged from the start by the importance being placed on sustainability in the travel industry by influential organisations such as TRBusiness creating innovative platforms like the Travel Retail Sustainability Week to encourage industry stakeholders to work together and address sustainability,” said David Mills, Founder, Sustainaholics.

The travel retail specialist start-up promotes sustainability and ethical consumerism in the travel industry through a fast growing portfolio of independent, sustainable brands.

Black Cow Vodka is a single ingredient, zero waste pure milk vodka made entirely from renewable energy on a West Dorset farm.

Sustainaholics is currently working with airlines, airports and cruise ship operators in the UK and beyond to provide them with a ‘coherent, customer facing dedicated sustainability proposition’ and anticipates further listings in 2023.

The overriding goal is to ‘make the discovery of innovative independent premium sustainable drinks brands a standard part of the travel experience’.

All of this is informed by Mills’ two decades of industry experience, including five years as board director and CFO at Retail inMotion.

Two Drifters is a carbon negative rum distilled in Devon, England, by a certified B Corp family company.

“Most travellers are aware that travelling creates carbon emissions and want to see stakeholders take positive actions and create solutions-orientated partnerships,” said Mills.

“By encouraging airports airlines and cruise ships with a serious commitment to sustainability to create positive new partnerships with authentic sustainable brands, we offer a coherent sustainability led customer retail proposition that meets the growing customer demand for sustainability.

“We’re so proud at sustainaholics to launch the travel industry’s first sustainable spirits’ range with one of the most famous and prestigious airlines in the world, and couldn’t think of a better airline to partner with to share these amazing sustainable spirits with passengers all around the world.”
