The Prague Outlet to target tourists

Set to open in 2015, the Prague Outlet believes it will soon become the Czech Republic’s number one shopping destination as new investors ‘identify gap in the retail market and tap into tourism’.


The new outlet centre is strategically located next to Prague’s Václav Havel International Airport and is in close proximity of the city´s centre. “With live departure boards, up-to-date flight information and check-in kiosks, The Prague Outlet will be leading the field in outlet marketing,” says the new investor Dreitonel.


When complete, the outlet will house retail space of 31,000sq m. New investor Dreitonel – recently renamed The Prague Outlet – plans to open the outlet centre gradually in three phases. In the first phase the opening will include a total of 12,000sq m with space for 80 stores. During the second phase a further 50 stores will open with a floor space of 8,000sq m.



The third phase will include 40 stores with a floor space of 6,000sq m. Martin Kubišta, head of the company The Prague Outlet A.S, said: “After acquiring ownership of this extensive property with a noticeable space for development near Prague´s only international airport, we have worked hard to define our new product: a premium outlet centre with the right size and character. It had to be a modern space with an attractive mix of brands and upscale visitors services.”


The investor has also tied up with outlet experts Rioja Developments to drive the project forward. They will bring in key partners and work to engage the right retailers to ensure the success of the scheme.



Originally developed in 2008 as Galleria Moda, the building was completed but never opened. The new owners acquired the site in 2013 and have spent the last eight months defining the new proposition and offer.


Martin Kubišta, said: “Our vision for The Prague Outlet is to develop a premium offer with light and airy interiors encompassing a host of designer and high street brands.”


He added: “The location right next to Prague´s Václav Havel International Airport and 25 minutes from the city centre gives brands a unique retailing opportunity”.
