Tony’s Chocolonely unveils travel-themed ‘pick and mix’ at Frankfurt
By Trbusiness Editor |
Tony’s Chocolonely has partnered with Gebr. Heinemann and Frankfurt Airport Retail (FAR) to introduce the confectionery brand’s first ‘pick and mix’ activation in the travel retail channel.
The initiative features a complimentary, limited-edition Frankfurt-themed suitcase-shaped packaging sleeve, which can be filled with any two 240g bars from Tony’s travel retail assortment, to create a customised purchase.
The “suitcase” – created to celebrate the recent opening of the new Frankfurt Airport Terminal 3 – is available at all Gebr. Heinemann points of sale at the airport, notably T3 Non Schengen, T3 Schengen, T1 A-Main, T1 B-West and T1 Z-Main.
All Tony’s chocolate is made with fairly sourced cocoa beans from Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana – and all beans are ethically sourced through Tony’s Five Sourcing Principles.
This is said to ensure 100% traceable cocoa beans and long-term partnerships with cocoa cooperatives, who pay a higher price for cocoa to enable a living income for farmers, and invest in sustainable practices to boost productivity and quality.
By sourcing this way, Tony’s ambition is to end widespread poverty and exploitation in the West African cocoa supply chain. “This exclusive travel retail product delivers great taste while helping push for lasting systemic change,” the company commented.
