Independent distiller and blender Loch Lomond Group has joined the whisky category of the Travel Retail Consortium (TRC).
Announcing the news, TRC PR Relation Manager Rebecca Harwood-Lincoln said: “We are delighted to welcome the Loch Lomond Group to the TRC. The company will certainly add value to the consortium and complements the other member brands superbly.
“The TRC is not all just about business, we host various events throughout the year where we get to know each other and interact on a more personal level.”
Loch Lomond counts expressions from the eponymous single malt brand, Glen Scotia and Inchmoan among its expanding travel retail portfolio.
André de Almeida, Loch Lomond Group’s Managing Director – Global Travel Retail, said: “The GTR channel is an important part of Loch Lomond Group’s strategy and we are looking to continue growing and engaging within the duty free industry. On that basis, we are delighted to be joining the Travel Retail Consortium as part of that process.
“Joining the TRC provides us with the opportunity to engage more actively within the GTR channel and grow our business network with professionals from across different sectors.
“With so much expertise within the Consortium, we can share valuable knowledge and experience with other members and hopefully gain new insights and advice to continue growing within the industry.”
Conceived in the late 1960s, the TRC is an organisation concerned with promoting the interests of travel retail within the UK via member companies.
These include Accolade Wines, Aurora, Go Travel, Guinness, Heineken, Imperial Tobacco, INVU ultra polarised sunglasses, Kurate, Mars, Morgan and Oates, Rémy Cointreau, RHA, Sekonda, Skross, Champagne Taittinger and Twinings.
