UK-based Travel Retail Consortium (TRC) has announced three new members as of 1 February: Butlers Chocolates, eyewear supplier Mondottica and agency Bluedog Group.
The trade association has also expanded its membership criteria to allow service agencies, making it possible for Bluedog to join.
TRC was founded over 40 years ago and exists to further the interests and development of the UK travel retail industry.
“The TRC is extremely pleased to announce our three new member companies,” said TRC Chair, Sharon Edwards.
“Together they will bring a fountain of knowledge across their respective categories and expertise from many combined years working in the travel retail business.
“We look forward to hearing from them at several in-person events planned for 2024.”
Founded in 1932, Butlers is an Irish family-owned brand offering luxury chocolate assortments, bars, liqueurs, sharing packs and seasonal ranges.
“The entire travel retail team is excited to be joining the TRC, we look forward to sharing industry best practice insights and representing the confectionery category for members,” said Niall Fanning, Regional Sales Manager for Europe, Butlers.
London-based Mondottica has been designing and manufacturing eyewear under licence for over 20 years. Its brand partners include Ted Baker, Vivienne Westwood, Karen Millen and AllSaints.
Louise Porte, National Accounts Manager Sunglasses & Travel Retail added: “We are delighted to be joining the TRC and representing the sunglasses category.
“It’s a growing fashion accessories category and an exciting time to be discussing brand partnerships in travel retail.”
Bluedog Group is a global event, travel retail and digital creative specialist. It comprises four agencies: Kounter, doplr, HEX and Essential Communications. Clients include Dufry, Bacardi, Pernod Ricard, Ritter Sport, Lindt and Wella.
Andy Machin, Bluedog Group Operations Director, commented: “It’s great timing to be joining the TRC community, we are delighted to be joining and feel the group has much expertise to share with our travel retail industry colleagues.”
Sharon Edwards was elected as TRC Chairperson back in November. She took over from Martyn Westbury who had served as Acting Chairman since April 2023.
