Viking Line has opened a new pop-up shop at the Iso Omena shopping centre in Espoo.
The pop-up store, which opened on 12 November 2020 will remain operational until 10 January 2021. Fashion, cosmetics and sweets are all available in-store.
Products cost the same as those onboard Viking Line’s duty paid route between Helsinki and Tallinn (where Viking Line pays the Value Added Tax) according to the company.
Cash payments are not permitted and items cannot be exchanged or returned.
Eva Rehnström, Sales and Purchasing Manager, Beauty & Fashion, Viking Line told TRBusiness: “We needed to do something different and ‘invite’ our passengers to still shop with us even though they can’t travel.
“The feedback has been very positive from everyone and sales have exceeded our expectations. We can really feel people miss travelling and travel retail shopping.”
