By Kevin Rozario |

Calvin Klein ck2Dufry-owned World Duty Free today unveils Calvin Klein’s ‘gender-free’ fragrance, ck2 in a global exclusive that gives the duty free and travel retailer a two-month head start on domestic markets.

WDF stores in the UK, Dusseldorf and Spain are selling the scent well before the fragrance’s launch into the global domestic market from February 2016.

A WDF spokesperson comments: “We expect to see very strong sales results on the back of this exclusive launch. We are continually looking to bring new and exciting products to our customers by launching exclusively ahead of the domestic market. WDF has already done this very successfully with a number of great brands, underlining the scale and reach of beauty within travel retail.”

SCENT STRUCTURE

Fragrance-wise, ck2 balances the urban with the natural/fresh, opening with an unexpected spice of wasabi and fresh top notes of mandarin, violet leaf. It moves to middle notes of wet cobblestones, orris concrete and rose absolute, drying down to jasmine enhanced by vetiver, sandalwood and musks.

Pricing is £42.40/$64.17 for the 100ml edt, £31.20/$47.22 for the 50ml edt, and £9.60/$14.53 for the 75g deodorant stick.

The bottles is shaped like a light bulb which houses the juice and sits atop a solid cap that also serves as a unit to maintain the bottle upside down. The minimalist design of the outer packaging – a key element of the brand’s DNA – displays the bottle to full effect.
