Women in Travel Retail and TUMI team up for International Women’s Day event

By Faye Bartle |

Women in Travel RetailWomen in Travel Retail (WiTR) and TUMI are joining forces to host a motivational and networking event in celebration of International Women’s Day at the luggage brand’s Regent Street store in London on 8 March.

Titled ‘A Woman’s Voyage’, the event is open to both members and non-members of WiTR. It will commence at 5pm with drinks and canapés.

As well as being a rich networking experience that celebrates the power of women and the journey they take to succeed, the event will provide TUMI with a platform to showcase its new women’s collections – Voyageur and 19 Degree –  and demonstrate its expert packing techniques.

A highlight of the evening will be a motivational speaker (the identity of the VIP guest is currently being kept under wraps) who will talk to attendees about the path to success.

“Travel retail is a key strategy for us, being a travel lifestyle brand designed for the global citizen,” said TUMI’s Brand Director, Alex Willson.

“Just the day before travelling, customers will have packed their suitcase or bag, so the experience will be top-of-mind, and presenting a qualitative offer and showcasing TUMI at the airport is key.

Willson continued: “This season is the relaunch of TUMI’s beloved women’s Voyageur collection, boasting recycled materials within its core designs.

“With a redesign that focuses on versatility and enhanced functionality, we are reintroducing key styles in on-trend nylon materials; and with this in mind, are delighted to be partnering with WiTR for this event, coinciding with International Women’s Day.

“Any organisation that allows a group of people to get together and feel confident to swap ideas, network and debate in an industry that is so synonymous with TUMI, is worth supporting.”

Attendees can enter the business card draw for a chance to win top prizes. Plus, there will be a 20% discount on TUMI products, as well as gift bags for all attendees. The event will close at 7.30pm.
