A select number of the special BenRiach bottles are available at Heathrow on a first-come basis.

Dufry-owned World Duty Free is the first duty free operator to personally select a special cask of BenRiach Single Malt to be offered to travellers passing through London Heathrow Airport.  

The 12 year-old BenRiach Whisky was chosen specifically to be available for purchase during this year’s Heathrow Whisky Festival that runs through 26 June 2018.

Bottles of this ‘special’ single malt will be available in the liquor departments of World Duty Free’s main tax and duty free stores and World of Whiskies outlets in all terminals at the airport.

This is the first time Brown-Forman, parent company of BenRiach, has cooperated with the selection of an individual BenRiach cask by a travel retail operator.  A combined team of World Duty Free tasters and a group of spirits enthusiasts from the airport team made the selection.

As a one-time travel retail exclusive, there will be a select number of the special BenRiach bottles available at Heathrow on a first-come basis.

PROGRESSIVE DISTILLERY

“BenRiach has a reputation as a very progressive distillery that holds some of the most experimental casks in the Speyside region of Scotland.  We think this special cask selected for the Heathrow Whisky Festival will contribute to that reputation.”

Tasting notes for the selected cask describe it as a BenRiach 12 year-old single malt distilled in 2005 in an Oloroso cask giving it a rich amber colour with a nose of honeycomb, chocolate and honey-coloured dates. It is also said to have a palate of dark chocolate, herbs, honey-coated almonds and figs.
