X Factor winner performs charity song at Gatwick
By Charlotte Turner |

X Factor winner Joe McElderry performed the official World Hunger Day charity single at the World Duty Free store at Gatwick Airport in the South Terminal yesterday on 19 May. The song was made available for passengers to pre-order on the day.
The single is being officially released on the 27 May, with its first airing on the BBC Radio 2 Terry Wogan Show on the 15 May. Tim Holder, Country Director of The Hunger Project UK and co-writer of One World One Song says:
”We are delighted to be launching the song around the world, in partnership with World Duty Free, at this very special Live Event at Gatwick Airport.
“Ending hunger and poverty sustainably requires a concerted global effort. Where better to launch the message of this campaign than from this location. We look forward to national and international passengers taking the message of the song with them to their final destinations around the planet.”

Another live performance of the song by music legend Dionne Warwick and X Factor star McElderry, will take place on 28 May – the official World Hunger Day.
McElderry performed on Sunday alongside video footage of Dionne Warwick singing the new charity song. This opportunity was introduced to World Duty Free Group by Blackjack Promotions, a supplier used by the travel retailer for their ongoing programme of in store ‘theatre’ and customer engagement activities.
