Bangalore shortlist down to five

Bangalore International Airports Ltd (BIAL) has shortlisted five joint-venture companies in the final round of bidding for both its duty free and duty paid contracts, but notable absentees are the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC)

and Aer Rianta International who had both shown earlier interest.
Companies shortlisted for the duty free contract include: Alpha Airports Group, DFS Group, Dufry Group, Gebr Heinemann/Oberoi Group, and Nuance/Shopper's Stop. Those listed for the domestic retail contract are: Dufry, Nuance/Shopper's Stop and Pantaloons.
In addition, BIAL has also listed various companies for its three food and beverage contracts. Companies shortlisted in retail package one for outlets in arrivals and in the check-in areas include: Cafe Coffee Day, HMSHost, Global franchise Architects, Nuance/Shoppers Stop, and SSP International/RKHS.
The domestic departures food and beverage contract in package two is now down to Nuance/Shopper's Stop, HMSHost, SSP International/RKHS, Oberoi Group, and Skygourmet; while the food and beverage package three contract for international departures comprises Nuance/Shopper's Stop, HMSHost, SSP International/RKHS, Oberoi Group, and Alpha Airports Group.
BIAL's contract covering duty free and travel retail in the international departure and arrival shops comprises 1,750sq m in total. The next significant phase for all of these tenders is the submission of proposals which is due on October 25, followed by an expected contract award in November.
