A new scheme allows certain passengers at Sri Lanka’s Bandaranaike International Airport to shop arrivals duty free.

Eliglbe travellers that missed out on the chance to shop arrivals duty free at Colombo’s Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) earlier this year due to coronavirus-related restrictions can now do so.

Passengers who arrived in Sri Lanka *between 9 March and 31 May and had to go to quarantine centres are able to visit the arrivals duty free shopping complex from today (6 July), according to government-owned Airport & Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) limited.

Shoppers will need to present various forms of documentation and identification to gain access to the shops.
