DDFS announces key management appointments

Ashish Chopra has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer.

Delhi Duty Free Services (DDFS) has made two important changes to its senior management team to position the company for continued growth.

Ashish Chopra has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer from his current position as Head of Purchasing, while the company has recruited Dilpreet Singh Mehta to fill Chopra’s previous role as Head of Purchasing. Both will report to DDFS CEO Luke Gorringe.

“The elevation of Ashish will strengthen our organisation and energise our wider team allowing us to more fully realise our growth potential,” commented Gorringe.

New arrival Singh Mehta’s CV includes a spell as Head of Purchasing, FMCG at Metro Cash & Carry India Pvt. Ltd, and positions with Carrefour Wholesale Cash & Carry and Food World Supermarkets Ltd. in a retail career spanning more than 17 years.

“Dilpreet – a career retailer is an impressive leader, with extensive retail knowledge and brings a strong consumer-orientated approach; he is a very welcome addition to our team at DDFS,” Gorringe added.

“The organisational changes will help DDFS achieve the objectives set out in the company’s strategic roadmap. More importantly, these appointments will ensure the key executive team remains absolutrely focused on delivering the best customer experience that Delhi Duty Free is renowned for.”

Reacting to the promotion, Chopra said: “I am excited to get the opportunity to continue to significantly impact the business and strengthen operations.”

Singh Mehta added: “I am delighted to join Delhi Duty Free, India’s largest duty free retailer, and look forward to building on solid foundations that the buying team has established.”
