Delhi Duty Free Services’ staff celebrate the $15m sales record for June.

Delhi Duty Free Services (DDFS) secured a series of commercial milestones in June as it celebrated a sales haul of $15.1m (+8% year-on-year).

During the same month, India’s largest duty free retailer recorded its highest daily sales, achieved growth of over 50% in Shop & Collect revenue, and posted its highest ever sales in the perfumes & cosmetics and liquor categories.

This included the sale of more than 53,000 bottles of Johnnie Walker Black Label.

“Overall it has been a good start to the year, particularly in light of the tough travel retail business environment and ongoing new shop fit-outs at DDFS,” said Luke Gorringe, CEO Delhi Duty Free.

Paying tribute to his team, suppliers, shareholders and customers, he added:

“We have much to look forward to in the coming months with the opening of new shops featuring exclusive brands & concepts that are going to elevate the customer experience in Delhi Duty Free.”

DDFS says it plans to channel further investment into staff training to enhance its ‘customer first stategy’ and continue the positive sales momentum this year.

In February, DDFS launched its second Malt Festival that offered customers over 150 malt whiskies at Indira Gandhi International Airport as part of a two-month promotion.

The retailer adds that it expects to launch ‘several new offers and marketing campaigns’ in support of this.
