Jet Airways pilot strike is over

By Administrator |

A five-day strike by Jet Airways' pilots which has caused more than 800 flights to be cancelled over the past week is now over, after both the airline and its pilots' union finally agreed to

sit down and try and find a resolution to their differences.

More than 400 of the airline's pilots 'called in sick' over a week ago after two of their colleagues were sacked for attempting to set up a trade union, but Jet Airways has now agreed to re-instate the individuals, subject to all pilots miraculously regaining their health and returning to work.

The effective grounding of Jet Airways left passengers very frustrated at Indian airports and Jet Airways itself is understood to have lost around $8m a day as a result of the 'strike action'.
