Mumbai Duty Free launches new value spend campaign
By Doug Newhouse |
Mumbai Duty Free Managing Director Manishi Sanwal has announced the launch of the retailer’s latest marketing campaign entitled ‘Mumbai Duty Free is NOW Free’.
He describes this as ‘value based’ and aimed at offering the ‘best shopping experience’ to customers in terms of ‘best value for their duty free spends’.
‘SUPERSTAR ASSISTANCE…’
With this in mind, Mumbai Duty Free and its Flemingo International parent company initially enlisted the support and presence of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
In a special surprise in-store appearance he presented a free movie ticket to a lucky customer for his latest blockbuster – ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’.
Alongside this high-profile launch, the retailer has also included additional movie merchandise and tickets, plus signed posters and other materials which are all waiting to be won by Mumbai Duty Free’s customers as part of the ongoing campaign.
In a further development, the retailer has also partnered with downtown brands with a new ‘unbeatable’ value proposition whereby any customer spending ‘above a threshold’ will receive a ‘Mumbai Duty Free is NOW free’ envelope.
These contain discount vouchers, redeemable coupons and complementary experiences from partner brands, which the customer can use to make future purchases in India.
HOW CUSTOMERS GET THE FULL VALUE BACK….
As such, Manishi Sanwal says that collectively they equal even more than the purchase value of most products bought at the airport.
The retailer also adds that in ‘the inaugural edition’ it has teamed up with the Red Chillies to offer customers the opportunity to win movie tickets and meet the star cast of this latest ‘blockbuster movie’.
Tour operators are also offering exclusive discounts on travel bookings, while roaming providers are including the ’best international roaming packages.
Other benefits include online shopping vouchers, gift vouchers for luxury malls and cash back promotions with banks.
‘GLOBAL FIRST MARKETING CAMPAIGN’
Mumbai Duty Free says customers taking advantage of all of these offers should effectively get the full value back on their purchases made in the duty free store.
Commenting, Manishi Sanwal said: “We are extremely delighted to have launched a global first marketing campaign which is based on the principle of providing additional value.
“The inaugural edition of the campaign looks promising and the initial response from our partners, customers and staff is overwhelming. The campaign is here to stay – after all Mumbai Duty Free is all about ‘Best Value Guaranteed.’
