Survey finds Indian spend is very high

By Administrator |

A joint survey carried out by ACNielsen and Alpha Futures has identified that 30% of all duty free purchases made in Dubai, Singapore and Malaysia are brought back to India by the country's nationals.

The study concludes that 24% of those surveyed said they had travelled abroad and 12% had travelled in the past year. Of total passengers travelling abroad, the survey also found that 30% were flying for the first time.
Leisure and business travellers were almost even (44% and 51% respectively) with the most popular destinations cited as the US, West Asia, and Singapore. Around 60% of those surveyed said they always shopped at airports.
Not surprisingly, travellers in the survey said they were not satisfied with the range or the value of the offer at Indian airports.
