Trouble brews in Mumbai

By Administrator |

Only weeks after the Alpha-Future joint venture experienced teething difficulties with its start up at Delhi International Airport, the Aldeasa/ITDC JV now faces a not dissimilar challenge after Flemingo International launched a petition to restrain

the Mumbai International Airport tender award.
Essentially, Flemingo has questioned the tender process, insisting that it should have been allowed to bid for the contract now awarded to Aldeasa/ITDC, despite missing the February 23 tender submission deadline.
Flemingo is arguing that it repeatedly approached Mumbai International Airports Pvt Ltd (MIAL) to issue it with documents so it could bid, but it did not receive a response, despite claiming that it was qualified to bid. In essence, Flemingo is arguing that the award should be ruled null and void as a result.
The response from the courts to Flemingo's application so far has been to ask MIAL and GVK Airport Holdings consortium for their version of events. The case continues.
