Smart suitcase – 90FUN Puppy 1 – will be launched at CES 2018 in the US next week.

China-based firm 90FUN has announced the launch of its new smart suitcase – 90FUN Puppy 1 – that is capable of following passengers around the airport, as its name implies.

It will be showcased at the US Consumers Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas next week, confirms 90FUN (part of the Shanghai Runmi Technology Co Ltd).

The ‘auto-following’ smart suitcase is equipped with advanced balancing technology thanks to its strategic partner, Segway, the leading provider of mobile robotics solutions.

Its ‘custom auto-following chip’ and ‘precise positioning system’ enables the suitcase to follow travellers anywhere, adds 90FUN. A remote control can also be used to ‘summon’ the suitcase.

Commenting on the launch, 90FUN’s CEO Miao LIU, stated: “Targeting the US market is the first step of 90FUN’s international branding strategy because this is where first adopters of new technology gather and the strong curiosity inherent in this region makes it a perfect place to launch our smart suitcase.”

More details on the smart suitcase’s price and availability in travel retail are to be disclosed at the upcoming CES (9-12 January 2018).
