Abu Dhabi wins ACI ’Best Airport in the Middle East’
By Doug Newhouse |
Airports Council International (ACI) has awarded Abu Dhabi International Airport its ‘Best Airport in the Middle East’ and ‘Best Improved Airport: the Middle East’ awards at its annual ASQ awards.
As reported before, these awards are designed to give recognition to airports that have shown commitment to providing excellent customer experience and they are also based on passenger surveys supervised by ACI.
PASSENGERS CHOOSE THE WINNERS…
Unlike many other airport awards, it is the passengers’ opinions on the services offered to them, plus their aggregated satisfaction approval ratings with these services that translate into awards.
Accepting the award, Abu Dhabi Airports’ Acting COO Abdul Majeed Al Khoori, said: “We are proud of these awards as they move us closer towards our vision of being the world’s leading airports Group.
“I would like to thank our wise leadership, our partners and our stakeholders from our National carrier Etihad Airways, Customs, Immigration, Airport Police and the General Authority for the Security of Ports, Borders and Free Zones for their continued support and determination to excel.
“I would like to also extend my gratitude to our passengers who took an active part in our success today by voting for AUH.
ACI MEMBER FOR 10 YEARS…
“As we move closer to completing and operating the new Midfield Terminal, I would like to reconfirm Abu Dhabi Airports’ promise that we will continue to develop and enhance our services and facilities to ensure our passengers receive an unparalleled travel experience at our terminals.”
Abu Dhabi Airports was the first airport in the Middle East region to join Airports Council International and its management says it is pleased, since this recognition coincides with the tenth anniversary of its membership with the organization.
This most recent 27th ACI Africa/World Annual General Assembly, Conference & Exhibition was held in Mauritius earlier this week.
