After Eight expands beyond mint with first new flavours for travel retail

After Eight has added Caramel, Orange and Raspberry variants to the classic Mint recipe.

Nestlé International Travel Retail (NITR) is giving After Eight its biggest update since launch, introducing the iconic chocolate brand’s first-ever flavours beyond mint exclusively to global travel retail.

Available from September 2026, the expanded range adds Caramel, Orange and Raspberry variants to the classic Mint recipe. The launch is accompanied by refreshed packaging across the portfolio, featuring travel-exclusive messaging and a contemporary design aimed at attracting a new generation of shoppers while retaining the brand’s premium positioning.

The move marks a significant evolution for After Eight, broadening the brand beyond its traditional mint heritage to appeal to more gifting occasions and self-treat purchases. Each variety retains the signature individually wrapped chocolate envelopes that have long defined the brand.

For travel retailers, the launch is supported by dedicated in-store activations and merchandising designed to generate excitement within the premium confectionery category and encourage incremental sales.

Fred Porchet, General Manager of Nestlé International Travel Retail, said: “After Eight has long been synonymous with premium mint chocolate, making it one of the most recognisable brands in confectionery. By introducing flavours beyond mint for the first time, we are broadening the brand’s appeal to new consumers and more consumption occasions while preserving the elegance and quality that have defined After Eight for decades.

“This innovation is particularly relevant for travel retail, where shoppers are looking for distinctive gifting solutions and premium products that offer something new. The expanded range, together with refreshed packaging, travel messaging and engaging in-store activations, helps our retail partners create excitement, recruit younger adult shoppers and drive incremental growth within the premium confectionery category.”

NITR said the launch is also intended to strengthen the brand’s appeal among younger adult travellers, including Gen Z, whose interest in premium products and new flavours is increasingly shaping purchasing behaviour in travel retail.

The refreshed range contains no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and uses cocoa mass sourced from farming families participating in Nestlé’s Income Accelerator Programme, supporting more sustainable cocoa production.
