Aigner says travel retail is ‘vital distribution channel’
By Charlotte Turner |
German fashion accessories brand, Etienne Aigner will celebrate 30 years of exhibiting at duty free events at this years TFWA Cannes show.
In Cannes this year Aigner will be showcasing its Spring Summer 2013 collection as well as its Art Edition range by Shinpei Naito, which is exclusive to travel retail.
Since 1982 the companys exclusive leather goods and accessories ranges have been showcased to the global travel retail industry and this year Etienne Aigner is using the 30 year anniversary to hold a special celebration on its stand at TFWA World Exhibition (Yellow Village H35).
The party will take place on Tuesday October 23rd, attended by Aigner CEO Sibylle Schön. To commemorate the occasion, Aigner has created a brightly coloured anniversary motif that is to appear on a special edition piece, which will be presented to all the companys clients in Cannes as a thank you for their ongoing loyalty.
CELEBRATING SUCCESS
There is no doubt that the duty free shows and particularly the last 28 organised by TFWA have been crucial in helping us to develop our business in this channel and we really want to celebrate not just our own success, but the success of the industry and the exhibition in general, says Schön.
TFWA has done a magnificent job in developing the Cannes exhibition over the years and we would not be where we are today without this event.
Aigner products can be found in key global airports, most notably in South East Asia, Korea, the Middle East (particularly Dubai), Europe and on carriers such as Singapore Airlines, Eva Airways and China Airlines.
FOCUS ON SHOP IN SHOPS
We have numerous listings through key airports, focusing on shop in shops and corners, plus listings with some 30 airlines, continues Schön.
Weve taken on a number of new airlines this year, in fact, including King Fisher, Air Asia, Silk Air and Far Eastern Transport.
Were continuing to see growth for our business in travel retail, particularly in South East Asia, China, the Middle East and through Asian airlines, says Schön. So we reckon we have plenty to celebrate in Cannes this year and, of course, are looking forward to the next 30 years.
