The Airport Promotion Agencies Association (APA) has elected its first all-female Executive Board until the end of 2021.

Begoña Romero, Managing Director of young promotion Spain will lead APA, supported by Chairman and Vice Chairman Sally Alington, Founder and CEO, Ethos Farm; and Treasurer Filiz Ehliz, Founder and Managing Director, A Plan+.

Romero commented: “It is hugely exciting to be taking on this position working in partnership with Sally Alington and Filiz Ehliz to lead the Association and scope out the new ambitions and goals.

“It has always been the mission of the APA to add value to the airport promotions and duty free industry by offering our clients the assurance of true quality of service. We look forward to expanding the APA both in terms of membership, expertise and geographies.”

ALINGTON REJOINS

Alington, re-appointed to the APA Board, added: “It is a real honour to be back on the Board of the APA having had the privilege of working alongside former Chairman Alex Wiegel for seven years – it goes without saying that everyone at the APA acknowledges and is hugely grateful for the contribution Alex made to our Association as Chairman for so many years.”

The APA will meet in January 2020 in Amsterdam coinciding with the ETRC Business Forum to announce further details of its vision and mission.

APA is a non-profit organisation covering more than 100 airports worldwide with a mission to raise standards and promote best practice in the travel retail and duty free agency staffing sector.

Members offer expertise in staffing solutions for airports, retail marketing, experiential, destination targeting and customer service.
