The 2025 Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup at Ascot Racecourse on Saturday 9 August drew a crowd of more than 20,000 racegoers to witness the one of the most competitive renewals in recent years, with the newly-created Asia Team edging out Europe by one point in a thrilling conclusion to the international jockeys’ competition.

Members of the TRBusiness team were in attendance for a high-energy dose of horse racing action teamed with the signature hospitality of Dubai Duty Free (DDF), which has been the title sponsor of the Shergar Cup since 2006.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ramesh Cidambi, Managing Director of DDF, said: “We are delighted to support the further evolution of this unique event and the introduction of the Asia Team which will undoubtedly add to the global appeal of the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup.”

The Asia Team, comprising Suraj Narredu, Ryusei Sakai and Mirai Iwata, posted two victories on the card, with Narredu guiding Fireblade to success in the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup Stayers and Sakai scoring on promising three-year-old Prince Of India in the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup Sprint.
