BA gives the all clear

British Airways has written to its customers giving the all clear on radiation tests conducted on three of its Boeing 767 aircraft which were removed from service last week.
In a statement, BA said: ‘We would like to reassure you that the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has said that it does not believe that passengers were at risk over the past month following the discovery of low traces of a radioactive substance.’
The scares followed the fatal poisoning of former KGB agent Alexander Litvinenko who tested positive for traces of the radioactive substance polonium-210. Litvinenko had been a passenger on all three of the British Airways' planes flying between London and Moscow's Domodedevo Airport.
Health officials have now confirmed that none of the estimated 33,000 passengers and 3,000 crew members aboard the 221 trips flown by those jets since October 25 are believed to be at any risk.
