Bacardi serves up new Bombay Sapphire Premier Cru GTR exclusive

The new special release gin celebrates Tuscany’s finest flavours.

Bacardi Global Travel Retail has unveiled a new travel retail exclusive gin expression. Bombay Sapphire Premier Cru Tuscan Juniper is rolling out now to selected airport doors worldwide.

The new, one-litre super-premium variant has a bottling strength of 47% and an RRP of US$55. It is an ideal foundation for both classic gin cocktails and traditional gin and tonic serves, according to the brand.

Super-premium potential

Celebrating craftmanship and provenance, the small-batch gin features specially reserved, late harvest juniper berries from a single source in Tuscany. These berries are dried naturally to lock in their flavour, resulting in a sweet, pine-fresh intensity that is complemented by the subtle anise flavour of Tuscan fennel seeds.

The new gin contains no artificial flavours or essences, and the botanicals used are 100% sourced from sustainable certified suppliers. The elevated notes are extracted and captured using the brand’s signature vapour infusion process, at its Laverstoke Mill Distillery in Hampshire, England.

Each small batch is personally cut by Master Distiller Dr Anne Brock, to showcase the best of the harvest, and to ensure consistency.

According to research conducted by IWSR, gin is expected to remain the fastest growing spirits category for the next four years, with super-premium variants set to spearhead that growth.

IWSR also predicts that the super-premium segment will double in the next three years, with premium and above products representing 45% of the gin category by 2025.

The gin’s unique juniper foundation is said to be perfect for a variety of creative cocktails – and classic gin and tonic serves.
