BAT named as latest TRMarketplace sponsor as full registration opens

By Charlotte Turner |

As TRBusiness opens up full registration for TRMarketplace – the game-changing digital forum for the travel retail industry – we are also delighted to announce that British American Tobacco (BAT) has signed up as official sponsor of the Tobacco Category Insights webinar which will take place on Tuesday 29 September.

The inaugural week-long event will take place on 28 September – 2 October, however, the platform opens a full month prior to the inaugural event on 28 August, to allow users to book meetings in advance.

The Tobacco Category Insights webinar, part of TRMarketplace’s comprehensive e-learning programme, will feature business-critical intelligence and the latest data from Swiss research agency and official consumer insights partner m1nd-set, together with contributions from leading retail training company the Institute of International Retail.

Available exclusively at TRMarketplace, the educational programme feeds directly into the week-long Consumer Insights Hub that affords exhibitors and visitors a clearer understanding of changing consumer behaviours towards travel and shopping.

TOBACCO REMAINS A CRUCIAL FOOTFALL DRIVER

As reported, TRMarketplace invites users to join daily webinars, where expert moderators and prominent DF&TR executives will dissect pertinent issues facing the industry as a result of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

Sessions will be relevant to all stakeholders and channels, including airports, airlines, ferries & cruise, border stores and others. To access the current webinar schedule visit the TRMarketplace official website.

“Tobacco remains a crucial footfall driver for duty free and travel retail stores and as our exclusive consumer insights partner m1nd-set informs us, it is a product category which is not likely to witness a significant change in purchasing behaviour from shoppers once international flights resume on a meaningful level,” said Nigel Hardy and Janice Hook, Owners and Joint Managing Directors for TRBusiness.

“It is highly admirable that BAT are throwing their full support behind the category, at a time it needs it most, by sponsoring this important webinar, which invites all stakeholders to access up-to-the-minute consumer insights whilst sharing their own valuable experiences and ideas for how the category can not only survive this crisis, but thrive in the years to come.”

Brand Hub owners will gain full disclosure of the visitors list and have the opportunity to book meetings up to four weeks prior to the event start date to maximise ROI.

All TRMarketplace content will be available for six months after the event has concluded.

Since TRMarketplace was launched earlier this year, the Brand Hubs have received a tremendous response and as a courtesy gesture TRBusiness has decided to extend the deadline to register for a Brand Hub until 14 August.

Those who do not qualify for the visitor and supplier/brand categories at TRMarketplace can meet brands and enjoy the e-learning programme for a one-off fee of UK GBP £350 [NB: The fee precludes access to TRMarketplace visitors].
