Bateel expands Dubai Chocolate range with two new flavours

Bateel has launched Qahwa Kunafa and Matcha Strawberry flavours of its Dubai Chocolate.

Bateel has introduced two new additions to its growing Dubai Chocolate portfolio, blending regional heritage with global flavour trends for travel retail consumers.

The new Qahwa Kunafa and Matcha Strawberry creations bring contemporary twists to the Dubai Chocolate concept, and will be rolled out across Bateel’s travel retail locations in international airports worldwide.

The Qahwa Kunafa bar combines single-origin chocolate with the distinctive flavour of traditional Arabic coffee, layered with golden kunafa and enhanced with subtle notes of cardamom. The result is a product rooted in Middle Eastern heritage, reinterpreted through a premium confectionery format.

In contrast, the Matcha Strawberry variant takes a more global approach, blending white chocolate with a strawberry cheesecake filling and a delicate infusion of matcha. The flavour profile brings together East Asian influences with a nod to the region’s evolving taste preferences.

Nurtac Afridi, CEO of Bateel, said: “The inspiration behind our new chocolate creations was to explore flavour combinations that feel both familiar and new, reflecting the evolving tastes we’re seeing across the region. As these flavours continue to gain global recognition, we saw an opportunity to reinterpret them through our confectionery expertise, creating products that resonate with both regional and international audiences.”

The launches reflect Bateel’s continued focus on craftsmanship, quality and innovation, as well as a broader shift towards more diverse and experiential flavour profiles within travel retail confectionery.

Both products are designed to appeal to international travellers seeking distinctive, culturally inspired gifting options, while reinforcing the growing appeal of Dubai Chocolate as a category within global travel retail.
