BMW-Marcolin-dealThe Marcolin Group has today announced an exclusive worldwide licensing agreement with German automotive manufacturer BMW Group.

A five-year contract beginning 1 January will permit Marcolin to design, produce and distribute sunglasses and eyeglass frames for the multinational conglomerate’s BMW, BMW M and BMW M Motorsport labels.

Collections will be available worldwide beginning next year in travel retail and via Marcolin Group’s distribution network.

Massimo Renon, CEO, Marcolin Group said: “We are very excited and proud to be entering this new partnership with BMW, one of the most powerful leaders in the automotive and motorcycle industry.

“BMW has a strong influence in fashion, with products that are exciting to luxury audiences globally. We believe that the BMW brand, with its solid worldwide presence and innovative fashion design, will fit perfectly within our portfolio. We are confident that this partnership will have great success.”

In a statement, Marcolin says it will create ‘eye-catching and contemporary styles, with an energetic soul, conceived not only for the fans and customers of the BMW brand’.

The sleek, modern curves of the BMW 8 Series play out in the design of the new eyewear lines (see above rendering).

These will encompass modern and easy-fit shapes for BMW masculine and unisex sunglasses and optical wear, underpinned by precision detailing.

The BMW M models are described as the ideal fit for those seeking high-performance eyewear with bold aesthetics and high manufacturing standards.

Meanwhile, the BMW M Motorsport line is typified by its lightness, strong colour-blocking combinations and dynamic shapes.
