Bowmore takes a bow with final edition of 50-year-old Vault collection

Beam Suntory has introduced into global travel retail the final expression of the 1960s-inspired  Vaults collection – the ultra-rare Bowmore 1969.

Bowmore 1969 is available to purchase at Heathrow Airport and is set to land at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Istanbul Airport, among other destinations, later this year, according to the Islay single malt Scotch.

The liquid follows in the footsteps of the Bowmore 1965, 1966 and 1964 releases.

With a mere 339 bottles available globally, Bowmore 1969 is a marriage of five decades of spirit and oak, cultivating a rich expression of fruit and smoke.

It is sourced from American oak ex-bourbon barrels and hogsheads that unleash fragrant and floral notes with a stark contrasting citrus and sweetness flavour.

‘AN ENIGMA OF FLAVOURS’

The ‘almost undefinable’ taste boasts ‘an enigma of flavours’ that have shaped the brand’s legacy, according to the brand.

Bowmore 1969  is a marriage of five decades of spirit and oak, cultivating a rich expression of fruit and smoke for an ‘almost undefinable taste’.

Manuel González, Marketing Director Global Travel Retail for Beam Suntory, said: “We’re delighted to launch Bowmore 1969 to global travel retail in the coming months so that travellers can experience the liquid gold first-hand. Paired with the Bowmore 1965, the bottles are perfect for collectors, drinkers, and investors alike.

“They showcase some of the rarest whiskies from the timeless Bowmore distillery and bring a totally new aged expression to the whisky portfolio. They will certainly tantalise both dedicated fans and curious customers to discover the outstanding whiskies.”

The limited-run Bowmore 1965 can now be purchased at LAX and will soon arrive at a downtown duty free store in Sanya, Hainan.

Matured for 52 years, the limited-run Bowmore 1965 counts 232 bottles worldwide.
