The TFWA Management Committee has voted today (15 December) to re-elect Erik Juul-Mortensen as President of the association for a further one-year term.
Juul-Mortensen’s latest tenure as President will run until December 2024.
He had stepped away from the position in 2018 after serving as its President for almost 19 years.
TRBusiness gathers from reliable industry sources that there were no external candidates contesting this year’s presidency, with short odds on Juul-Mortensen’s re-election.
As one of the original founders of TFWA, Juul-Mortensen has now served as its President for more than two decades.
He previously held the posts of Vice President Marketing & Communications for 10 years, with a further year spent as Vice President Special Projects.
TFWA to mark 40th anniversary in 2024
“It is an honour to have been re-elected as President of TFWA for the coming year, and I would like to thank the Management Committee for the trust and support they have once again placed in me,” commented Juul-Mortensen.
“As we move forward into 2024, the year which marks the 40th anniversary of the Association, we remain committed to serving the duty free and travel retail industry as it enters an exciting new era.”
As reported, this year’s TFWA World Exhibition & Conference attracted more than 7,300 visitors – up 23% year-on-year – with buyer and landlord numbers increasing 15% on 2019 to reach a record 2,761.
