British Airways & Iberia loyalty members earn Avios on purchases at WDF shops

BA and Iberia loyalty members can now earn Avios points at World Duty Free Heathrow shops.

BA Executive Club members can now earn Avios on purchases such as sunglasses, skincare, fragrances, fashion and more in select World Duty Free shops.

British Airways Executive Club members are now able to collect Avios points when shopping at Avolta’s World Duty Free shops at London Heathrow Airport.

Customers are required to sign-up to ‘Red by Dufry’ – the travel retailer’s loyalty programme – and input their Executive Club details into the Red by Dufry app to avail of one Avios per £1/$1.3 spent instore.

Avios, the airline’s rewards currency, will be awarded to shoppers within 72 hours of each eligible purchase, with a bonus 250 Avios available on the initial transaction.

BA American Express cardholders can also take the opportunity to earn additional Avios when paying for their purchases.

More than 1,500 retailers are active on shopping. ba.com, including eBay which joined in September.

In a co-aligned offer, Iberia Plus loyalty members can also collect one Avios per €1 spent when shopping in World Duty Free shops at airports in Spain.

Colm Lacy, Chief Commercial Offer, British Airways said: “We know how much collecting Avios makes a difference to our customers’ travels, so we continue to find new ways to make collecting it easier than ever. With World Duty Free’s expansive presence at Heathrow, there’ll be plenty of opportunity for Members to collect Avios, bringing them one step closer to their next flight, holiday or experience.”
