Burberry Hero Elixir debuts in travel retail
By Naomi Chadderton |
Burberry has expanded its fragrance portfolio with the launch of Hero Elixir de Parfum, now available in global travel retail as well as globally from this March.
The new scent marks the latest evolution of the Burberry Hero franchise, offering a more intense and refined interpretation of the original fragrance. Designed to explore modern masculinity through contrasts of strength and sensitivity, the launch reinforces Burberry’s focus on premium fragrance innovation within the travel retail channel.
Created by master perfumer Aurélien Guichard, Hero Elixir builds on the signature trio of cedarwoods found in the original Hero, introducing a deeper, more sensual profile. The composition combines tonka and vanilla for a warm, resinous opening, layered with a leather accord and intensified woody base to create a long-lasting, sophisticated scent.
The fragrance reflects a growing demand in travel retail for elevated, story-driven scents that balance familiarity with newness—particularly within established franchises that resonate with international travellers.
Hero Elixir is presented in a reimagined version of the original bottle, featuring a dark-to-amber gradient glass design that visually expresses the fragrance’s duality. Matte and glossy finishes add depth, while the cap is adorned with the Burberry Knight emblem, reinforcing the brand’s heritage and identity.
With its richer concentration and more premium positioning, Hero Elixir is set to strengthen Burberry’s presence in the competitive travel retail fragrance category, offering both gifting appeal and a new expression for loyal consumers of the Hero line.
