Lagardère Travel Retail has hired Catherine Guyomard as Chief Human Resources Officer to cultivate the company’s workplace reputation and culture and lead its personnel strategy.

The experienced international HR leader joins the Paris-headquartered travel retailer’s Executive Committee and reports to Chairman and CEO Dag Rasmussen.

In her new post, she will support Lagardère Travel Retail’s global and local leadership teams in attracting, retaining and developing talent aligned with its PEPS (People, Ethics, People, Social) CSR strategy.

Guyomard will also focus on building the company’s culture and creating a work environment conducive to employee development.

Her resume includes spells at Crown Holding, Heineken France, Sephora and LVMH.

Skills aligned with PEPS

At Sephora, she was responsible for pay and benefits in EMEA and was International HR Director for the group across the region while at LVMH she was previously responsible for managing the HR strategy of the Group’s fashion division across Asia Pacific.

She also held senior HR positions for LVMH brands, including Berluti.

More recently, Guyomard has combined her passion for people and CSR with stints at French organic food retailer Bio C’Bon and GreenYellow, the latter of which helps companies to transition to cleaner energy.

During Travel Retail Sustainability Week in April, Melanie Guilldou, Executive VP CSR Global, Lagardère Travel Retail, revealed a target to work towards carbon neutrality across all operations by the end of 2023 as part of its PEPS CSR strategy.

Welcoming Guyomard to the team, Rasmussen said: “Our ability to attract the best talents across the industry, help them develop their careers and offer a great place to work is an important enabler of sustainable growth.

“I am confident that Catherine will further build on the great initiatives developed by our group to support our people’s engagement and the promotion of the company’s workplace culture.”
