Château Patache d’Aux celebrates Lunar New Year

Château Patache d’Aux is a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur from the northern Médoc.

Château Patache d’Aux is marking Lunar New Year 2026 with a limited-edition bottle design supported by a series of targeted travel retail activations across key international airport hubs.

The special Lunar New Year edition is being rolled out in partnership with Lagardère Travel Retail at select locations in Paris, Bordeaux, Geneva and Amsterdam, with activations launching from the end of December. The programme will extend into the Middle East from late January, with a dedicated activation at Dubai Duty Free, ensuring strong visibility during one of travel retail’s most important seasonal gifting periods.

A Cru Bourgeois Supérieur from the northern Médoc, Château Patache d’Aux has long been associated with its distinctive horse-drawn carriage emblem, which references the three families that have shaped the estate over generations. The patache symbol has become a visual shorthand for the château’s heritage, authenticity and pioneering spirit, making it a natural focal point for this Lunar New Year release.

In 2026, Lunar New Year falls on 17 February and welcomes the Year of the Fire Horse, a symbol closely associated with energy, renewal and prosperity. These themes are reflected in the updated label design, which offers a contemporary interpretation of the château’s visual identity while remaining firmly rooted in its Bordeaux origins.

To further strengthen its gifting appeal, the limited-edition bottle is complemented by an exclusive Lunar New Year gift box, designed to resonate with travelling consumers looking for premium, culturally meaningful products to share with family and friends.

“Lunar New Year is a key moment in the travel retail calendar, particularly for gifting-driven categories such as fine wine,” said Ieva Olina, Key Account Manager Travel Retail at AdVini. “With Château Patache d’Aux, we wanted to create a limited-edition expression that feels both culturally relevant and true to the château’s heritage. The horse has always been a powerful symbol for the estate, and aligning this with the Year of the Fire Horse allows us to tell a compelling story in airport environments.”

Through its combination of limited-edition packaging and high-profile airport activations, Château Patache d’Aux reinforces its positioning as a heritage Bordeaux brand with contemporary relevance, well suited to the global travel retail channel.
