Chloé combines luxury and conscious consumerism in Nomade Naturelle

By Charlotte Turner |

Following the launch of Chloé’s EDP Naturelle, parent company, Coty, has now released similarly eco-conscious, Nomade Eau de Parfum Naturelle into European travel retail locations with an Asia Pacific rollout to initiate in March.

The new Nomade Naturelle EDP is described as an 100% natural-origin fragrance, formulated together with naturally derived alcohol and water and nothing else. It also features ‘lower-impact’ packaging, contains no artificial colorants and is also vegan*.

The main ingredient, jasmine, is harvested in Egypt according to a method that contributes to more responsible practices**, says Chloé. Egypt is also the native country of Gaby Aghion, the founder of Chloé.

“Nomade Eau de Parfum Naturelle combines luxury with the willingness to contribute to a more social and environmental responsibility,” said the fragrance brand.

‘MERGING OF CULTURES’

“It fully expresses the Maison’s commitment to centre its creative approach around improving the impact of its activities on the planet and in society.”

To launch the new fragrance, Chloé selected British actress, singer and director Naomi Scott, as the new face. Well-known for her roles in Aladdin and Charlie’s Angels, she will soon star in the science fiction movie Distant, slated for release in March, 2022.

The brand also suggests that the new scent celebrates the merging of cultures and the ‘poetry of encounters’.

It also marks a new olfactory territory for Chloé: a gourmand jasmine fragrance composed by the perfumer Caroline Dumur.

“Upon first impression, this new scent takes the imagination to a distant landscape at sunset,” insists the brand.

NEW ECO-CONSCIOUS BOTTLE DESIGN

“The essence of bergamot bursts through – as refreshing as a breeze on the dunes – while Egyptian jasmine absolute provides sensuous, generous overtones. The flower’s timeless elegance meets the smoothness of a date accord, as vanilla and sandalwood weave a warm, addictive base.”

Reconceived to help to reduce the impact on the environment, this new bottle design includes recycled materials, which make up 15% of the glass bottle and 40% of the cardboard box.

Moreover, the cardboard is FSC-certified, which denotes that wood is procured according to procedures that guarantee sustainable forest management.

She is an active supporter of women’s rights and is the ambassador of the organisation Compassion, which assists underprivileged children throughout the world.

Naomi Scott was raised in Uganda by her British father and Indian mother, thus growing up in the confluence of several cultures.
