TRBusiness and m1nd-set are delighted to announce that Noel Philips, aviation expert, acclaimed travel vlogger and media commentator will be the ‘consumer in residence’ at the Travel Retail Consumer Forum due to take place at the Hilton London Paddington Hotel on 20-22 September.

Philips, who boasts 1.5m followers on Facebook, a monthly reach on YouTube of more than 16.7m along with 1.1m monthly video views, was also a member of the esteemed blogger/vlogger judging panel for the 2021 Travel Retail Awards; the ceremony for which will take place on the evening of 21 September.

During the event, TRBusiness partner m1nd-set will be delivering unique, unrivalled, and highly valuable consumer research during this two-day conference, tailored to provide the industry with the information it needs to meet consumer expectations as we navigate our way through the pandemic.

This is the first and only industry conference to place the consumer at the heart of the entire agenda, which is why Philips is so thrilled to be involved.

‘AN INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY’

“I’m excited to be part of the panel to bring my experiences of travel, and have the incredible opportunity to help shape the future of the travel retail industry through my personal experiences,” he said.

Noel Philips flies over 100,000 miles a year and has made films on every continent except Antarctica.

This will also be the first in-person conference in travel retail since the pandemic started.

“This is an amazing opportunity for me to share my experiences of traveling around the world, especially during the previous 18 months where traveling has been a privilege enjoyed by so few,” added Philips.

THE WHOLE TRAVEL SPECTRUM

“I’m looking forward to talking about my experiences as a consumer, and the highs and lows of travelling during the most turbulent 18 months the travel industry has ever faced.

I find myself in a position to be a unique consumer who happens to travel a lot more frequently than the average consumer.

“I am able to bring my experience from a wide spectrum of travel experiences, from the ultra low cost carriers, to essential air services connecting remote communities around the world, through to first class on the world’s best airlines, which gives me a unique perspective of the whole travel spectrum.”

Philips has been fascinated by all things aviation since he was a child and obtained his private pilots license at the age of 19.

Commenting on his spell as a judge on the Travel Retail Awards panel, Philips said: Consumer opinions are very important, and I love having the opportunity to see and try the latest products being released, and being able to give genuine, unbiased feedback on how I feel these products would be received by the public.

“It’s a privilege to be invited to test these products and provide my thoughts on them.”
