Dubai Duty Free (DDF) has updated TRBusiness on the next batch of strategic commercial projects following the completion of the new Concourse B liquor & tobacco departures shops last year and revamped arrivals units in 2025.

Fresh from the major redesign and refurbishment of its L&T departures shops in Concourse B (East and West) and arrivals stores across all three terminals, Dubai Duty Free is eyeing the next phase of development.

The Concourse B refurbishments were completed in 2024, during which DDF generated record annual turnover of $2.16 billion, while the revamp of the arrivals stores concluded in February of this year.

In an exclusive interview for the Top 10 International Operators report, Ramesh Cidambi, Managing Director, Dubai Duty Free, confirmed to this publication that DDF is now entering a new, dynamic phase of regeneration across multiple retail areas over the coming six to 12 months.

Several strategic projects are already underway, with more in the pipeline.

T2 departures plan in 2026

“These initiatives will not only enhance our current footprint but also lay the groundwork for 2026 and beyond,” he explained.

In view are major retail upgrades in Terminal 3 Concourse A. Significant work is underway for the Gifts from Dubai shops (East and West) and the perfumes, cosmetics, and fashion outlets (East and West).

“Site works have commenced, with tentative shop openings scheduled from November 2025 to January 2027,” explained Cidambi.

Luxury brand transformations at Concourse A include a new boutique unit for Louis Vuitton in September.

Elsewhere in Concourse B (East) the removal of outdated kiosks has created space for four new retail outlets.

“These include a fashion and luggage shop, promotional site and ‘At Your Service’ shop,” said Cidambi.

Concourse C is also undergoing improvements with upgrades to the watches, sunglasses, and fashion areas scheduled to take place between August and October.

“Moreover, additional refurbishment and redesign efforts are planned for Terminal 2 departures. The area is currently in the concept planning stage, with project initiation expected in 2026,” added Cidambi.
