Diageo Global Travel launches Mortlach Travellers’ Exclusive Collection
By Trbusiness Editor |
Diageo-owned Mortlach has unveiled a new Travellers’ Exclusive Collection of three age-statement single malt Scotch whiskies.
The first global travel retail-exclusive launch for the brand has been crafted by Master Distiller Dr Craig Wilson. It will make its debut with China Duty Free Group (CDFG) in Hong Kong in July.
The range will then be available across major CDFG travel hubs across Asia, including Hong Kong, Hainan, Shanghai and Beijing. This initial debut in Asia will be followed by a global roll-out.
The launch will be supported by a bespoke activation in Hong Kong International Airport, and by the opportunity to personalise a bottle at the Malt & More Whisky Museum in Hainan.
The Travellers’ Exclusive Collection features three distinctive expressions that aim to combine innovation and a unique flavour experience to offer discerning travellers a new take on luxury whisky, according to the brand.
Diageo leverages channel exclusivity
The 14 Year Old is matured exclusively in refill casks, delivering “an unapologetically bold, raw, and vibrant expression that captures the uncompromising character of Mortlach.”
The 16 Year Old is described as a complex, multi-layered whisky finished across four cask types: PX and Oloroso sherry, American oak bourbon, wine and virgin oak casks. The 20 Year Old – a “pioneering release” – is finished for the first time in rare Scottish oak casks, offering a distinctive and elevated flavour profile.
CDFG Vice President Michelle Sun commented: “We are delighted to be the first to introduce Mortlach’s Travellers’ Exclusive Collection to travel retail consumers. Today’s travellers are looking for unique products and memorable discoveries that they can only find while travelling, and this collection delivers exactly that.
“With its distinctive age statements and exclusive availability, we believe it will be a compelling addition to our whisky offering and a strong draw for luxury spirits shoppers across the region.”
Diageo Global Travel Managing Director Andrew Cowan added: “We are excited to be bringing an exclusive Mortlach collection to travellers worldwide, so anyone can experience and immerse themselves in this exceptional malt whisky brand.
“We know differentiation matters and that people are looking for something they can’t get at home when they visit the duty free fixture. The Travellers’ Exclusive Collection from Mortlach aims to offer just that, a distinctive expression of luxury Scotch for travellers alone.”
