Distell International appoints Rachel Hawes as GTR Head of Marketing

New Distell International, Head of Marketing for Global Travel Retail, Rachel Hawes.

Distell International has appointed Rachel Hawes as Head of Marketing for Global Travel Retail, effective 1 August.

Hawes, who has worked at Distell for six years in various marketing roles, has a strong understanding of the company’s single malt and wine portfolio. Most recently, she held the role of International Marketing Manager for Amarula and played a key role in steering the brand to success.

She will be based at Distell’s London office, reporting to Luke Maga, Travel Retail Managing Director, Distell.

Travel retail is Distell International’s third largest division. Distell says the appointment of Hawes underlines the company’s commitment to stepping up the global development of its brands (Amarula, Bunnahabhain and Nederburg wines) and increased focus on enhancing the customer journey in DF&TR.

Maga commented: “Rachel has worked across Distell’s wine, spirits and cream liqueur portfolio for the past six years and has a strong track record of growing brand equity and consumer awareness.

“Travel retail is a strategic channel for Distell International and Rachel’s experience will help us to adopt best practices from domestic markets to showcase our brands on a global stage.”
