Dolce&Gabbana-K-Shiseido-TR-leadShiseido Travel Retail will showcase its new fragrances from    and Issey Miyake duo at this year’s TFWA World Exhibition & Conference (Riviera Village Stand RJ5), off the back of a successful year for the company’s scent portfolio.

The Japanese beauty giant will introduce K by Dolce&Gabbana – a new eau de toilette for men – along with L’Eau d’Issey Rose&Rose and L’Eau d’Issey pour Homme Wood&Wood from Issey Miyake to exhibition visitors between 29 September – 4 October.

“Fragrance continues to be a strong contributor to the overall success of the global perfume and cosmetics market in travel retail, comprising 29% of total sales last year,” says Shiseido.

“The fragrance category is seeing positive momentum in the Americas and the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regions, where it made up 63% and 67% in 2018 sales respectively. In Asia Pacific, fragrance sales grew by an encouraging 10% in the same period, further underlining the potential of this category.”

Elisabeth Jouguelet, Vice President of Marketing and Innovation, Shiseido Travel Retail, commented: “These new products from both Dolce&Gabbana and Issey Miyake are major launches for the fragrance arm of Shiseido Group, further boosting our portfolio as we continue to deliver on our mission of creating ‘Beauty Innovations for A Better World’.

Issey Miyake’s L’Eau d’Issey Rose&Rose.

“Dolce&Gabbana and Issey Miyake are two iconic brands in travel retail, responsible for numerous timeless fragrances over the years, and we are excited to build on this heritage by bringing these new releases to consumers around the globe.”

Created by perfumers Daphné Bugey and Nathalie Lorson K by Dolce&Gabbana, the new eau de toilette for men, is said to ‘evoke the fresh earthy scent of wooded Tuscan hills’, fusing blood orange and Sicilian lemon with juniper berry, clary sage, geranium and lavandin.

“Spicy pimento essence, an ingredient rarely used in perfumery, adds a touch of heat, kindling the heart of the fragrance and amplifying its masculine energy,” adds Shiseido. “The scent then unfolds to a base of warm woods, cedarwood merges with earthy vetiver, followed by the sweet spiciness of patchouli.”

For the launch of this new pillar, Dolce&Gabbana Beauty has partnered with Italian influencer Mariano di Vaio, who stars in a campaign set in the village of Montepulciano, in the heart of Italy, shot by photographer Mariano Vivanco.

K by Dolce&Gabbana is available now in 50ml and 100ml bottles across Travel Retail EMEA, Americas and Asia Pacific.

Issey Miyake’s L’Eau d’Issey Rose&Rose for her features two different types of rose: Bulgarian and centifolia. The rose top note combines with pink pepper, accompanied by a hint of raspberry and pear.

“The generous middle note is resolutely floral, with Bulgarian rose essence and rose infusion, completed by the fruity tones of Osmanthus,” says Shiseido.

“The base note plays on intensity with the essence of patchouli underpinning the gentle opulence of Ambrox and Cashmeran.”

L’Eau d’Issey pour Homme Wood&Wood ‘goes all out’ on woody notes, with a top note of spicy grapefruit, cardamom and ‘elemi essence’.

“The middle note contains wood interwoven with essences of Virginia cedarwood and sandalwood, alongside Ambrox and the sweet flavour of apricot,” adds Shiseido. “The base notes convey intensity through a plethora of woods, with essences of Haitian vetiver and patchouli against a musky backdrop.”

L’Eau d’Issey Rose&Rose is available in 50ml and 90ml and L’Eau d’Issey pour Homme Wood&Wood comes in 50ml and 100ml. Both fragrances are on-counter now in Travel Retail EMEA, Americas and Asia Pacific.
