The service is designed to boost global sales of K-brand products.

South Korea’s Shinsegae Duty Free has launched a cross-border e-commerce platform specialising in overseas sales of Korean duty free products.

The development follows a decision by South Korea’s government to authorise online duty free product sales this month to overseas customers not visiting the country.

Shinsegae Duty Free’s online shopping mall, available in Korean and Chinese, showcases 3,000 Korean products spanning categories such as K-beauty, fashion and health and functional foods popular among Chinese buyers.

Ample beauty & fashion skus

The K-beauty category itself offers more than 2,000 products from about 100 brands, including Sulhwasoo, The History of Whoo, Vidivici, and V&A Beauty.

Around 40 famous Korean fashion brands also present in excess of 1,300 products from labels such as Youkshimwon, OiOi, and Stretch Angels.

Shinsegae Duty Free is capitalising after South Korea’s government permitted overseas customers to purchase products directly from online duty free channels without having to visit the country.

Alibaba’s logistics arm Cainiao Network is in charge of overseas fulfilment in and outside of China.
