Duty free veteran Keith Spinks launches new website for consultancy services

By Luke Barras-hill |

Keith Spinks boasts more than 30 years’ experience in advocating for and defending the rights of duty free and travel retail.

Respected DF&TR lobbyist Keith Spinks has introduced a new website for his company Spinks European Affairs Consultancy (SEAC).

The Barcelona-based former European Travel Retail Confederation (ETRC) Secretary General first launched SEAC in 2014 as an independent public affairs, communications and strategy planning consultancy for companies operating in DF&TR.

SEAC offers expertise across a number of legislative and regulatory affairs and devises strategies that address challenges to the industry.

Spinks told TRBusiness that the idea for the website came earlier this year, the purpose being to establish interest among industry companies to receive more individually focused information and guidance on the challenges facing the DF&TR industry.

He made clear to this publication that he doesn’t view the website as an alternative to the existing trade associations, rather a chance to offer advice while at the same time supporting the ‘bigger picture’ issues being addressed by the associations.

Spinks had worked as Senior Counsel to the ETRC up until August last year after taking on the role in February 2019.

He had previously served as Secretary General for the association and its predecessor the International Travel Retail Confederation for the best part of two decades and has played a major role duty free lobbying campaigns since 1988.
