‘Embracing change’: DDF sponsors TRMarketplace

By Charlotte Turner |

The world’s largest single-airport travel retailer, Dubai Duty Free, has announced its support of TRMarketplace as official sponsor of the event’s Keynote webinar, ‘Embracing and leading through change’, on Monday 28 September.

As announced, DF&TR stakeholders can now complete their registration for TRMarketplace [click below to register]. Registration will close on 24 August.

There are now less than eight weeks to go before the travel retail and duty free industry’s first digital conference and networking forum takes place on 28 September – 2 October. However, the platform opens a full month prior to the inaugural event on 28 August, to allow users to book meetings in advance.

During the Keynote webinar, TRBusiness, together panel of senior industry executives and thought-leaders, will set the scene for the dynamic business week ahead in this introductory webinar.

The introductory session will offer inspiring ideas to help the industry overcome the new challenges it faces and offer realistic perspectives on how to lead a workforce through an unprecedented period of uncertainty.

‘EMBRACING AND LEADING THROUGH CHANGE’

Under the theme ‘Embracing and leading through change’, the guest speakers will discuss changing consumer behaviour, the irreversible new global travel retail landscape and the evolution which businesses across the sector will need to embrace in order to adapt and survive, both through and after the global pandemic.

DDF joins British American Tobacco (BAT) which recently signed up as official sponsor of the Tobacco Category Insights webinar which will take place on Tuesday 29 September.

Dubai Duty Free believes TRMarketplace to be the next logical step and ‘of great importance’ for an industry suffering from a lack of face to face meetings.

The company’s Executive Vice Chairman & CEO, Colm McLoughlin, personally applauded the platform from TRBusiness and Bluedog Productions.

“Well done to TRBusiness for taking the initiative to launch TRMarketplace, which will provide the industry with the opportunity to gather virtually and to receive updates and product information in a convenient fashion.

“It is great that the industry is once again showing its resilience and creativity by adapting during these difficult times. I am looking forward to catching up with our industry colleagues soon.”

DAILY E-LEARNING PROGRAMME

Saba Tahir, the company’s highly respected Senior Vice President of Purchasing, added: “Considering the new norm brought by this pandemic, the TRMarketplace place is a good way to gain access to brand hubs across a multitude of product categories and be able to meet with existing partners, witness new product launches and discover new and innovative brands.

“It is likely that we will be out of the usual face to face meetings, conferences and exhibitions for some time, so this medium of communication will be of great importance.”
