The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) has promoted Jane Hertzmark Hudis to Executive Group President, effective July 1, 2020. Stéphane de La Faverie succeeds her as Group President.
Hertzmark will continue reporting directly to Fabrizio Freda, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Estée Lauder Companies and oversee the Estée Lauder, La Mer, Bobbi Brown, Aerin, Origins, Aveda, Bumble and Bumble, Dr. Jart+ and Do The Right Thing brands.
Her portfolio encompasses several of the company’s highest growth areas including skincare. She will be responsible for driving success across China and Asia Pacific and among Chinese consumers worldwide.
Freda said: “This well-deserved promotion recognises Jane’s exceptional leadership across the company. Throughout her career, she has made a significant impact driving brand-building expertise, spearheading the elevation of marketing and talent and leading her portfolio of brands to achieve outstanding broad-based growth across categories, regions and channels.
“I am grateful to Jane for all that she has done to drive the company’s success and as an advisor to me. I know that she will continue to lead and inspire us to even greater heights in the future.”
TOP SKINCARE STRATEGIST
Recently serving as Group President, she has been the company’s top skincare strategist. A champion of the company’s hero franchise strategy, she has driven innovation and built franchises including Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair and La Mer’s Créme de La Mer.

Jane Hertzmark Hudis will oversee a number of brands including La Mar in her new role of Executive Group President, The Estée Lauder Companies.
Prior to her promotion to Group President in 2016, Hertzmark served for seven years as Global Brand President, Estée Lauder. In this role she led the brand’s modernisation and digital evolution to attract a new generation of global consumers.

An advocate of leadership development and inclusion and diversity, Hertzmark co-founded ELC’s Women’s Leadership Network in 2017. The aim was to inspire and engage women across the organisation and help them become exceptional leaders and mentors.
Meanwhile, de La Faverie will report directly to Freda and continue reporting to Hertzmark for his global brand President responsibilities relating to Estée Lauder and Aerin.
His new brand portfolio will include, Jo Malone London, Aramis and Designer Fragrances, Le Labo, Darphin, Lab Series, By Kilian, Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle, Rodin olio lusso and Prescriptives.
Freda commented: “Stéphane has extensive expertise leading brands, making him well suited to the significant leadership responsibilities of the Group President role. As Global Brand President, Estée Lauder and Aerin, he has been the ideal leader to bring our company’s iconic namesake brand into an incredible phase of broad-based growth.
“His well-deserved promotion reflects his excellent track record of building and leading global brands, his expertise across categories and channels, and a keen understanding of local relevance.”
As Group President, de La Faverie will oversee and drive ELC’s recently-announced third brand cluster. This is focused primarily on artisanal and luxury fragrances. In addition to the company’s enterprise fragrance strategy, he will leverage his skincare expertise to drive differentiation for cult-favourite brands in this category and opportunities in China and travel retail.
