Estée Lauder’s 2013 Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

Estée Lauder has launched its Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign for 2013 with the slogan: “Let’s Defeat Breast Cancer. We’re Stronger Together.”

 

This year’s initiative will expand public focus beyond awareness of the disease and encourage individuals around the world to take specific actions that support breast health and move forward towards the ultimate goal of a world without breast cancer.

 

“We are pleased to share with you our new theme for The Estée Lauder Companies’ 2013 Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) Campaign: “Let’s Defeat Breast Cancer. We’re Stronger Together”,” says William P Lauder.

 

 

“But, action doesn’t happen alone. When we join together…We’re Stronger Together. More than two decades ago when Mrs. Evelyn H. Lauder co-created the Pink Ribbon and launched The BCA Campaign, she was led by the knowledge that eradicating breast cancer could “never be done by any one person.”

 

WORLDWIDE EMPOWERMENT

“She envisioned a worldwide movement that empowered people from Seattle to Shanghai. This spirit of unity and camaraderie is at the heart of our 2013 BCA Campaign; it opens the door to an exciting new era, one that expands our focus beyond awareness and sparks both action and long-term commitment.”

 

This year, The Estée Lauder Companies’ employees, customers, retailers, doctors, researchers and many other partners will come together in “Circles of Strength” to defeat breast cancer through action, education and medical research.

 

According to the BCA, when breast cancer is diagnosed at an early stage and is localised, 90% survive more than five years beyond their diagnosis. Yet, in many areas of the world, awareness lags tragically far behind, and stigma and access to care remain critical issues.

 

Over the past two decades, The BCA Campaign has raised more than $48 million to support global research, education and medical services; $38 million of which has funded 152 Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF) research projects worldwide in the past 20 years.

 

FUNDING FOR RESEARCH PROJECTS

This year’s BCA Campaign is committed to raising $5m to support breast cancer research, education and medical services worldwide. A donation of $50 through BCAcampaign.com represents approximately one hour of lifesaving research and goes directly to BCRF.

 

Each $250,000 raised supports a BCRF research project for one year. Each and every dollar, and hour, will be a step closer to eradicating this unyielding disease.

 

“We’ll be partnering again with Estée Lauder Spokesmodel Elizabeth Hurley and our devoted World Pink Ribbon Ambassadors, several of whom will take on more dynamic roles this year,” adds William Lauder.

 

New BCA Campaign social and digital programmes will feature a social experience that invites people from all around the world to create their own “Circles of Strength” consisting of their friends, family, co-workers and loved ones who can comment, share and rally around any action.

 

“The fact remains that one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime,” adds William Lauder. “We hope you’ll become  part of the galvanising force and create your own “Circle of Strength” dedicated to changing this equation forever and that you’ll share The 2013 BCA Campaign action strategies that follow with your readers.

THE EVELYN LAUDER DREAM COLLECTION

Created to honour Evelyn Lauder’s dream of eradicating breast cancer in our lifetime. Estée Lauder will donate £10.00 from every sale in the UK of the Advanced Night Repair Synchronised Recovery Complex II with Pink Ribbon Bracelet to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

 

There are four products in the collection, which will be available to purchase from travel retail locations. Along with the BCA edition of ANR the range includes: The Evelyn Lauder and Elizabeth Hurley Dream Lip Collection; The Evelyn Lauder Dream Pin Jeweled Pin and the Evelyn Lauder Dream Solid Perfume Compact.

As part of this year’s campaign, The Estée Lauder Companies BCA Campaign will illuminate global landmarks, such as Semperoper in Dresden, Germany; Madrid City Hall, Spain; and North Seoul Tower, Korea, in glowing pink lights, focusing attention on the importance of defeating breast cancer.
