EU and US cargo probe

By Administrator |

British Airways, Lufthansa, SAS, Air France and KLM have all had their offices raided following the launch of an investigation by the European Commission and the US Department of Justice (DOJ).

This follows the DOJ?s decision to coordinate the activities of its anti-trust division with EU and other foreign authorities. However, the European Commission has emphasised that even though some airline offices have been raided, this did not imply complicit involvement in any wrongdoing and investigations are continuing.
Anti-competitive and cartel-like behaviour is punishable at the extreme with a 10% of annual sales fine by the European Commission.
