Winners draw: (L-R) Carlos Granados Moyano, Associate Director Sales WTR, Mondelez World Travel Retail; Gerry Murray, Executive Secretary, DFWC; Lyn Zhan, Talent Development Manager, Amberich International (managing the DFWC Academy China); and Barry Geoghegan, Founder, Duty Free Global.

Two DF&TR industry executives have been handed complimentary course enrolments onto the Duty Free World Council Academy (DFWCA) Certificate in Duty Free and Travel Retail.

Fu Le Qun, Chief Business Advisor, Hongyuan Group and Tarun Arora, Chief Commercial Officer – Non Aero, Delhi International Airport Limited, are eligible to join the course’s new Mandarin and English language versions, respectively.

As reported, DFWCA courses are now available in Mandarin through DFWCA China in a partnership with Amberich International (HK) Ltd and Ceventas Pty Ltd.

DFWCA China was launched officially during the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference earlier this month.

The winners were drawn by DFWC Academy Advisory Group members (see right).

DFWC President Sarah Branquinho commented: “I am delighted with the feedback we have had in Singapore from both retailers and suppliers to the creation of the Academy China. This week, I have heard many delegates express the real need in our industry for bespoke training; the Academy has been created to address this need.”

The launch of the DFWCA courses in Mandarin recognises the growing importance of China’s tax and duty free marketplace.

The flagship Certificate in Duty Free and Travel Retail is designed primarily for frontline retail staff and offers a holistic overview of the global industry, the specific characteristics of the channel, and deep insights into shoppers’ expectations and behaviours.
