Franck Waechter has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the ESSEC Business School in Cergy, France and is trilingual in French, English and German.

Tax Free World Association (TFWA) has announced Franck Waechter as the association’s new Managing Director, effective 2 November.

The French national takes over the position from John Rimmer, who departs TFWA today (30 October).

A graduate of the ESSEC Business School in Cergy, France, Waechter has experience working with a number of global brands operating within DF&TR, including L’Oréal, Givenchy, Guerlain, Champagne Laurent-Perrier and Valmont.

His broad international career has taken him to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, China and Taiwan, where he has lived and worked.

Outside of his professional life, Waechter enjoys tutoring ESSEC students.

“With an impressive track record in strategic development, financial analysis and leadership gained in a wide variety of roles across a broad spectrum of organisations, Franck brings with him solid commercial skills which will stand the Association in good stead as we focus on providing a vital business platform for the industry as it returns to growth,” commented TFWA President Erik Juul-Mortensen.

“With the Board and Management Committee, I am delighted to welcome Franck to lead the team on the next stage of TFWA’s journey.”
